Heavy Waste Is Priced On Weight
A few bags of rubble take up almost no room but weigh more than a van full of furniture, and a vehicle can only legally carry so much. That is why builders waste is priced differently to a house clearance, and why being honest about what is in the pile gets you an accurate number first time.
- Rubble, soil and concrete are quoted on weight, not just space
- Tell us roughly how many bags or barrows and we will price it right
- Mixed loads are split so you are not charged rubble rates for timber
- Heavy materials are collected in smaller, more frequent loads
Asbestos: Stop And Check First
If the building went up before the year 2000, assume asbestos is a possibility until you know otherwise. It turns up in textured coatings such as artex, insulation board, floor tiles, soffits, cistern panels and corrugated garage and shed roofs.
We are not licensed to remove or carry asbestos and we will not take it. Do not break it up, bag it or hide it in a load. Get it surveyed and removed by a licensed asbestos contractor, then call us for everything else on site.
Other Things We Cannot Take
- Asbestos in any form, including bonded sheets
- Paint tins, solvents, adhesives and resins
- Gas bottles, foam canisters and aerosols
- Fuel, engine oil and contaminated soil
- Fluorescent tubes and lamp ballasts
Working With Trades
Most of this work comes from builders, plumbers and kitchen fitters who need the same thing twice a week.
Repeat Collections
Booked in through the job so the waste never builds up and blocks the space you are working in.
Same Day For Trades
Call in the morning and we will usually clear it before you knock off, subject to the day being open.
Awkward Access
Terraces, red routes and sites with no driveway. Tell us the parking situation and we plan around it.
Invoiced Accounts
Regular builders and contractors are quoted in writing and invoiced rather than paying on the day.
Builders Waste Questions
Do you take plasterboard?
Yes, but it has to be kept apart from the rest of the load. Gypsum cannot be mixed with general waste at disposal, so bag or stack the board separately and tell us it is there when you book. Mixing it in slows the job down and costs more to sort.
How much rubble can you take?
Rubble is limited by weight rather than space, since a vehicle can only legally carry so much. Small quantities go in a single visit and larger volumes are cleared across more than one collection. Tell us roughly how many bags or barrows and we will size the job properly.
Can you come back through the job?
Yes, and it is how most trade work runs. We book repeat collections around your programme so waste is not sitting in the room you need next. Regular customers are invoiced rather than paying each time.
Do you take asbestos?
No. We are not licensed to carry it and we will not take it under any circumstances. Anything suspected of containing asbestos needs a survey and a licensed asbestos contractor. Call us for the rest of the site once it has been dealt with.
What if there is nowhere to park?
Tell us before you book. Terraces, red routes and permit bays are normal in London and we plan the carry around them. It is far better to know in advance than to have the team arrive and lose the slot.
Clear The Site, Keep The Job Moving
Send a photo of the pile and tell us where we can park. You will get a fixed price straight back.
