What Affects The Price
Nothing is charged by the hour, so a slow job never costs you more than a quick one. Four things move the number, and you will know all of them before you agree to anything.
How much there is
The single biggest factor. We price on the space the load takes up in the van, so a two bed flat costs less than a four bed house.
Access and parking
Ground floor with parking outside is quicker than a third floor flat with a long carry. It changes the price, and we tell you up front.
Heavy or awkward items
Pianos, safes, large garden waste loads and bulk rubble weigh more than household furniture and are priced accordingly.
Full or part clearance
A single room, a loft only, or the entire property including the garden. You decide the scope and the price follows it.
House Clearance Questions
Do I need to be there for the clearance?
It helps if someone can let us in and point out anything that is staying, but you do not have to be present for the whole job. Many landlords and executors leave a key with a neighbour or agent and we send confirmation once the property is empty.
Can you clear a property after a bereavement?
Yes, and we handle these jobs regularly. We work at whatever pace suits the family, put aside documents, photographs and keepsakes for you to go through, and can spread the clearance over more than one visit if that is easier.
What happens to items that are still usable?
Anything in reusable condition is separated out for reuse or donation wherever we can, and the rest is sorted for recycling at a licensed transfer station. Very little of a typical house clearance needs to go to landfill.
Do you clear lofts, garages and sheds?
Yes. Lofts, garages, sheds, cellars and outbuildings are all included in a full clearance. Tell us about them when you get your quote so the price covers everything in one go.
How much notice do you need?
Same day and next day slots are often available, particularly earlier in the week. For a full property clearance it is worth giving us a couple of days so we can allocate the right size team and vehicle.
